JAKARTA, May 6 (Xinhua) -- The Indonesian Lion Dance Sports Federation (FOBI) will hold the World Lion Dance Championship in Bali next year, FOBI Chairman Edy Kusuma announced on Tuesday.
Kusuma said that preparations are underway to welcome lion dance athletes from around the world.
"The 2026 world championship in Bali will feature a packed agenda, including not only competitions but also tourism activities," he said.
Kusuma emphasized that Bali, a world-renowned resort island, is an ideal location to promote the Chinese-originated lion dance sport globally.
Meanwhile, Marciano Norman, Chairman of the Indonesian National Sports Committee, urged the organizers to ensure thorough preparations, as athletes worldwide will participate in the event.
"My message is clear. I hope Indonesian lion dance athletes can achieve success in the championship," he said. ■
